Pieces in Progress: Living fit, healthy, & happy!

Because of yoga, today is the healthiest I’ve ever been, the strongest, the bendiest, the most toned, but more than that, today I am the most content, the most joy-filled. My daily yoga practice has taught me that when I stop quantifying myself, when I stop thinking of myself as a compilation of numbers and measurable milestones, and instead listen and appreiate where I am and what I’ve done, that’s when I open myself to being truly healthy and happy. Numbers have their place, but when they become what matters most, you’ve lost the joy and fulfillment that comes with a healthy lifestyle. Letting go of judgement, especially towards yourself, is hard and for me it is a constant challenge, but when you find moments of truly loving, it is so worth the work. I will keep trying to live a life of acceptance and forward momentum, keep using my practice to guide me, and through that I will keep being healthy and happy.
